Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie’s actual animated teaser just dropped and it was beautifully animated as expected.
OVERVIEW
The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime movie produced by MAPPA studios is set to release in Japan on 24th December, 2021. It will adapt the prequel story to the anime series, titled “Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School”. The movie will adapt the Cursed Child Arc.
QUICK SUMMARY : The story here is about a young boy called Yuta Okkotsu, who is haunted by his childhood friend Rika. Rika’s spirit has turned into a cursed-entity that mercilessly kills anyone who she deems a threat to Yuta. Yuta is convinced to join Jujutsu High by Satoru Gojo and begins to train in Jujutsu sorcery alongside his new peers.

TEASER BREAKDOWN
Teaser starts with a cinematic-style shot of a ring being tossed around which refers to the backstory of Rika giving a ring to Yuta, promising she’ll always stay with him. Then our main male and female protagonists are shown in a time-journey kind of style, this somehow teases us about the death of Rika. Then we get to hear our MC’s voice. He is probably voiced by Ogata Megumi, who also voiced Ikari Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion. The we get to see more shots of our MC followed by credits.
THOUGHTS / OPINIONS
The animation was ABSOLUTELY INSANE in the starting cinematic shots. It really felt like a real ring is being tossed around. Our MC’s voice kinda suits him as he’s a crybaby type of guy from the start. Background instrumentals were really soothing and kinda fits to the scenario. This movie is going to be a blast. Obviously it isn’t going to surpass Demon Slayer Mugen Train’s box office records but I’ll find this movie more entertaining than the former as the characters aren’t annoying here and the story’s better.
I’m very excited as I have high expectations from MAPPA cause they are known to give proper justice to the manga. Are you guys excited ?
