KOBAYASHI SAN’S DRAGON MAID S2 – Episode 6 Review

This review contains MAJOR SPOILERS from the episode.

After the visually stunning last episode, KyoAni takes it a little easy with this episode. Who can blame them, really? We are long overdue for an adventure with our side characters anyway. Let’s see how the episode fared!

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT

THE PLOT : The first segment featured the relationship between Lucoa and Shouta in the past. I thought it was kinda boring ngl. The second segment featured Takiya and Fafnir and was a wonderful and watchable piece of media. The third segment was all about Kanna and Riko taking a trip to a riverside, and it was awesome. Good stuff all around!

THE CHARACTERS : Most of the major cast sits this episode out. Kobayashi and Tohru play a tiny role, but nothing of particular importance to the plot of this episode. Elma and Ilulu are also missing for large chunks of the episode, only showing up for about 10 seconds each. This episode featured only Shouta, Lucoa, Takiya, Fafnir, Riko, and Kanna.

ART AND MUSIC : Not much to say here. They were never going to top what they did in the previous episode. What we got was fine, and I am perfectly content with the animation quality and the music used in this episode.

FINAL VERDICT

Episode 6 lives and dies based on your opinions on the side characters. If you like all of them, you will love this episode. If not, tough luck. You probably like at least a few of them, and getting to see them should make this episode worthwhile nonetheless.
