This post’s gonna be spitting STRAIGHT FACTS. It’s gonna be LONG. This is meant to be my objective review and analysis on both series so far.
PLOT
MHA : It’s NOT bad. Major issue is its pacing and consistency. This is due to constant and repetitive training arcs which is meaningless. This completely kills the momentum of the plot.
JJK : My favourite aspect of the plot is that it takes these old generic anime tropes and executes them in a manner that exceeds the foundation. Not perfect but definitely has less flaws.
BETTER PLOT : Jujutsu Kaisen
SIDE CHARACTERS
MHA : Its has some of the best side cast members out of the most new gen anime right now. Aside from that, about 70% of the cast just seems useless to the plot.
JJK : It gives us a great cast but unlike MHA, the author seemingly fleshes out each and evey character in the story just enough for you to feel their personal relevance to the story.
BETTER SIDE CAST : Jujutsu Kaisen
PROTAGONIST
MHA : I don’t mind Deku. I’m not a hater that just calls him crybaby and thinks he’s a complete horrible character, but as a protagonist, he is lacking in a lot of aspects. Mirio feels like a better protagonist than him which is an issue.
JJK : If you closely observe Itadori Yuji as a whole, you see a key difference. How his philosophy changed over the course of 1 season is greatly executed. Yuji doesn’t feel as if he’s being pulled along by the plot which is GREAT.
BETTER PROTAGONIST : Jujutsu Kaisen
ANTAGONISTS
MHA : This is probably the best aspect of this series. What makes it great is the foundation that the first season created for them. I truly think that they captured the essence of what good antagonist are.
JJK : It’s already setting the foundation for Sukuna and Getou to eventually takeover as antagonist, while you have Mahito growing as a character. But this isn’t enough for me to praise JJK.
BETTER ANTAGONISTS : MHA
WORLD BUILDING
MHA : It has 0 world building, the world has never expanded through the series. Everyone has quirks so basically no one is super because powers are now normalised. A wasted potential here.
JJK : The world building here is pretty decent for a new series explaining how the cursed system co-related with the world itself. This gives audience a sense of realism.
BETTER WB : Jujutsu Kaisen
ANIMATION/ARTWORK
Animation and artwork is completely subjective and both MHA and JJK have beautiful and unique artwork but the display from MAPPA in the first season is on a different level. MHA is also pretty close and consistent just as JJK is.

CONCLUSION
Jujutsu Kaisen is the overall better series at the moment. Everything it has done in the past season is INSANELY GOOD. Even though the anime has only 1 season as compared to MHA’s 5 seasons, JJK has proved itself in every aspect. Just wait till season 2 releases, you’ll FEEL why I praise JJK so much.
But this doesn’t mean MHA is a bad series. It’s extremely popular, even though the fandom is dog-shit. It’s a solid 6-7/10, but so far JJK is easily a 8-9/10.
