This is a new series in which I’m gonna talk about some of the anime news of this week. Let’s see what we have today.
1. Blue Lock manga is OFFICIALLY getting an anime adaption.

It will be produced by Studio 8bit (who also produced Reincarnated Slime) and is scheduled for 2022. There are rumours that it’s gonna be better than Haikyuu. I don’t have much opinions as I’ve not read the manga.
2. One Piece manga has now 490+ Million copies in circulation.

It has surpassed Batman to become the second-highest selling comic series of all time. Superman is still on top though with 600 Million sales. Idk how this data works, so…
3. Sony officially acquired Crunchyroll for $1.175 Billion.

They’ve planned to merge the two into one “unified anime subscription experience”. The plan is to create one anime streaming service to rule them all. I highly doubt there will be much advantage to viewers.
4. Kentarou Miura’s Berserk manga gets a new chapter.

It was announced on Thursday that a new chapter will release on September 10. The magazine will be a “memorial” issue to Miura, and will also have a special “Messages to Kentarou Miura” booklet and a poster of “famous scenes” from the manga.
