This is again a new series in which I’ll briefly describe and rate some of the manga which I’ve read this year.
HORIMIYA
LENGTH : 123 Chapters (finished)
GENRE : Comedy, Romance, Shounen
MY RATING : 8/10
Horimiya is the manga that kicks clichés to the side and stands firmly atop the flood of high school romances that get published so often. The anime sucks tho.
WOTAKOI : LOVE IS HARD FOR OTAKU
LENGTH : 70 Chapters (ongoing)
GENRE : Comedy, Josei, Romance, SoL
MY RATING : 8.3/10
Wotakoi is a funny and touching Josei manga which will appeal to a wide audience. It’s sweet, reference-fueled and “a little” cringy but it’s negligible.
BONNOUJI
LENGTH : 35 Chapters (finished)
GENRE : Comedy, Romance, Seinen, SoL
MY RATING : 8.5/10
Bonnouji was a very heartwarming read. It also does a good job at conveying the theme of “change” and the effect it has on certain characters. Though it could’ve had more content to it as it’s very short.
OSANANAJIMI NI NAJIMITAI
LENGTH : 24 Chapters (finished)
GENRE : Comedy, Romance, Seinen
MY RATING : 7.9/10
This was a very cute read. This manga proves that any writer could pull of a good story within such a small period of time. I just wish it could’ve been a bit longer as this would’ve been great.
MY SENPAI IS ANNOYING
LENGTH : 161 Chapters (ongoing)
GENRE : Comedy, Romance, Seinen
MY RATING : 8.5/10
This is an office-centered romcom manga. The dynamic between the characters is really fun to watch. This really feels like Wotakoi meets Komi Can’t Communicate to me.
