First things first, MyAnimeList is the most invalid site ever. So it’s ridiculous seeking validation from a biased site.
There’s nothing more annoying than people who whine and complain about what’s #1. Most of the time, they’re just mad because their favourite anime is not there.
A statistical based ranking shouldn’t be taken too seriously. It’s so flawed. People tend to be biased towards rankings. Reviews and comments are mostly “opinions” and opinions are NOT facts.
MAL’s ratings are VERY biased but that’s somewhat the actual point of the system. People rate shows based on their own enjoyment. Even the MAL moderators are simps for their favourite anime.
I understand that having some bias in reviews is inevitable. Although, the issue is a STRONG bias that makes the site questionable.
MAL is honesty a reflection of what’s popular at the moment. It is a site that doesn’t accurately and NEVER will represent anything in the community.
It’s just a tool used to keep track of what you’re watching/reading. Though I don’t use it even for that purpose. Bruh I’m so tired…
