HOW I STARTED MY ANIME JOURNEY (repost)

Tbh I was amongst those who used to say things like– “watching anime is a waste of time” or “it’s just a cartoon made for kids”. But oh boy, I was WRONG. In my opinion, watching anime is kinda like starting off a journey with no return. They’re just that much addictive.

Back in 2014, I also used to say stuff like “I’d never watch anime no matter how bored I am.” , “Anime’s just not my type.” , “How can people watch moving cartoon drawings?” and much more. I was exactly like every other typical anime hater.

HOW IT REALLY STARTED

One day, my cousin (an anime veteran) suggested me to watch Death Note. He said it’s fun and very intense, totally worth the time. I was like – meh, nvm I’ll give it a shot, though I took 10-15 days to even start it.

Ngl after finishing the very first episode, I found myself seriously hooked to it and slurped the whole show in 2 days. It was VERY surprising to me that I’m getting addicted to the only thing I sworn to never watch.

WHAT I LEARNED

The thing I observed was that people can never understand the essence of something, until or unless they give it a shot. After that incident, my life flooded with anime.

Like 1-2 years before, the same guy suggested me to watch Naruto. My reply was, “I’ll kiss your ass if you ever found me watching any of the long anime series (Naruto, Bleach).” And guess what, I binged the entire series in 2 weeks. (though I never kissed his ass lmao #straightforlife )

AFTERMATH

That was exactly how I started my anime journey. I proved each of my statements wrong, but tbh, I’m glad I did. I’ve also been reading Manga/Manhwa/Manhua/LNs from quite a long time now. But I’m kinda bored ngl.
